You know Hollywood is messed up when these hacks are getting so much work.
This is going to be a juggernaut at the Oscars.
Jason X
Dracula 3000
and now Jurassic Park 4
Space: The Final Cashgrab
Am I the only one who thinks this could be great?
Robocop was all about the tongue-in-cheek jokes made at the expense of the military, big business, environmentalism, police cliches, etc.
The Robocop 1.0/2.0 thing seems like a riff on how everything gets focus tested nowadays before it's put out to market. I can just imagine a bunch of social satire about how the marketing department decides that Robocop needs some "extreme" image to be cool. ...
I want to think the worst about this film. But every time I watch a trailer or a video it doesn't look like the lazy cash grab I suspect it to be.
Good to know we won't lack for slightly better than average television. :/
Yeah and Matthew McChesticles is probably perfect for the roles he plays as well. Doesn't make him any less hollow.
Top IMDb movies for Chris Pine:
Star Trek
Just My Luck
Unstoppable
This Means War
4 movies, same insipid fratboy character.
But the new James T. Kirk already is challenged.
Acting challenged.
TDK
That opening bank heist with the song Aggressive Expansion playing in the background is forever ingrained into my memory.....along with that moment with the grenade.
There was a third?
We don't have nearly enough high quality monster movies anymore.
Well she won't have to do much acting.
Ba dum tish!
Pretty good list, I wouldn't have thought of including Turner and Hooch.
Though I would have replaced Lethal Weapon and Rush Hour with Lethal Weapon 2 and Rush Hour 2.
That picture of Broderick with is hair up in the shower looks vaguely like Rooney Mara in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
A cleverer man than I could make a parody out of that.
It would be nice for this not to suck like the last one.
(Harsh opinion I know but it is something I feel I can defend.)
JJ, Orci, and Kurtzman haven't given me good reason to be optimistic, but with no writer's strike this should be an improvement......I hope.
Where's The Guard?
Bridesmaids is up for best screenplay and The Guard isn't? That's like putting The Hangover against The Social Network and saying that the Hangover had a better script.
Being a fanboy for something that's generally perceived as being good still makes you a fanboy. The difference between you and a Naruto nut is more contextual than substantive.
Oh and I revile Naruto.
I'm a watcher of anime but I've never been able to get into Studio Ghibli films. I have no idea why, they just never seem to be all that entertaining to me. It's off putting because all I hear are good things.
The Guard anyone?
Seriously the best comedy no one saw or talked about this year.
I'm very interested to see how this turns out.
My hope is that Blomkamp is the real deal, not just a one hit wonder, and that once JJ leaves for Star Wars Blomkamp is given the reins to Star Trek.
